New Rocketeer movie blue jets to Disney Plus

Disney is ushering a hot version of the Rocketeer to the screen, dubbed The Render of the Rocketeer.

It's been thirty years since the first flic arrived, a 1991 rangy-budget pic oriented away Joe Johnston (Captain America: The Foremost Avenger), and it's aged well in the middle decades. Prima Beak Campbell as a stunt pilot who discovers a jetpack prototype which transforms him into the titular character, the movie is settled on the graphic novel by Dave Stevens, and has since been rediscovered and publicised a cult classic.

According to Deadline, the character is slated to return to the screen in a Disney Plus movie, with David Oyelowo and Jessica Oyelowo set to produce this new looping. Will the worker also star? Mayhap. The inexperient moving picture is dubbed a "possible starring project" for Oyelowo, who is focalization on the behind-the-lens aspect of the film. His Aku Saxon production society is developing the film as part of a primary-look apportion with Walt Disney.

Story details remain thin happening the ground, only the report says the hand will focussing on "a superannuated Tuskegee airman who takes up the Rocketeer mantel." Ed Ricourt is writing the screenplay. The Now You See Maine scribe too enclosed episodes for Jessica Jones, Obstinate Pines, and Raising Dion.

This isn't the first time we've heard of The Rocketeer fashioning a comeback. Disney's plans to set forth an entire dealership based on the 1991 motion picture were thwarted by a dissatisfactory box bureau return, leaving it dormant for decades. But in 2016, word of a sequel emerged.

The Rocketeers was intended to serve atomic number 3 both a sequel for fans and a reboot for those unfamiliar with the character. Information technology was going to revolve around a Black female pilot who takes up the Rocketeer mantle to stop a rotten rocket scientist from turn back the Cold War.

It's uncertain if any remnants of that outline rest. That planned sequel was to be written by Brooklyn Nine-Club's Liquid ecstasy Winkler and Ingrid Goes Mae West's Matt Spicer, and while they'Re no longer up to our necks, producer Brigham Taylor of The Jungle Book, who was attached to that sooner sequel, is happening board for The Return of the Rocketeer.
